Update on RFID activities in Danish Hospitals

Keynote presentation by Johnny Olsson and Henrik Stilling, Central Denmark Region

Danish regions want to obtain automatic identification and traceability of items and people in its hospitals. Some of these hospitals are under construction. Central Denmark Region has taken the lead across the regions to develop a referencial architecture, which has now being further developed to be a common architecture for all Hospitals in Denmark. The referencial architecture was presented at the RFID i Danmark 2013 Conference.

Now 3 years later the Central Denmark Region are right now in the process of rolling out RFID at New University Hospital (DNU) in Aarhus – the project described in RFID Journal article “Denmark’s Mega Hospital Works on Mega RFID Deployment”.

Primary focus in Johnny Olssons and Henrik Stillings presentation will be on actual experiences gained until now – Was the approach working? What was achieved? What was learned?

In addition to Central Denmark Region’s own status Henrik Stilling will also give a ‘snap shot’ of the status on RFID activities in Danish Healthcare – across the 5 regions.
